[ARCHIVED] GIS Department Wins 2020 SAG Award!

The Porter County GIS Department, within the Department of Development and Storm Water Management, won the 2020 SAG Award!  Congrats to our GIS and Storm Water Team!

What is the SAG Award? The Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Awards are held annually by ESRI, a world-wide supplier of geographic information system software, web GIS, and geodatabase management applications. Jack Dangermond, president and founder of ESRI, awards several organizations internationally to highlight those who set a new precedent with GIS technology. Over 300,000 organizations were eligible for the award last year. Being nominated for such an award shows great leadership, creativity, and innovation!

The Porter County GIS Department continuously strives to maintain a progressive GIS deployment while offering readily available, convenient, and accurate location intelligence applications and data. A multitude of Porter County departments now utilize GIS data to accomplish their work tasks while others utilize GIS application workflows to increase efficiency like Storm Water Concern Reporting, Code Enforcement or Elections Administration.  Staying on the cutting edge of developing technology, the Porter County GIS Department has increased government efficiency by creating and maintaining an invaluable resource for the citizens and businesses of Porter County.
