Storm Water Program Ordinances
Porter County Storm Water Program is established by the following ordinances, which address the creation and administration of the Storm Water Management Program and Storm Water Management Board as required under the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit program requirements as administered by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM).
These ordinances outline the responsibility and purpose of the Porter County Storm Water Program as it functions today. Please review the following documents for further understanding of our program.
Purpose: This ordinance establishes a Storm Water Management Board to fund and support: the operation, construction, inspection and maintenance of Storm Water System facilities; Storm Water System planning; storm water quality control operations; and, the review of development plans for compliance with the storm water management codes which includes construction inspection.
Purpose: This ordinance establishes a Storm Water User Fee System to fund and support all facilities and activities listed above in Ordinance 14-12. The fee is based, in part, on the amount of storm water that is projected to be discharged in the Storm Water System from each parcel of property located within the unincorporated areas of Porter County.
Purpose: This ordinance reorganizes the Plan Commission office and establishes administration and management of the following: Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Building Permits/Inspections, Code Enforcement, Economic Development, Redevelopment, Geographic Information Services (GIS), and Storm Water Management.
Purpose: To amend the Storm Water Management Program and include the White Oak Conservancy District within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Storm Water Management Board for Porter County.
Purpose: To amend Ordinance 84-31 to convert the Porter County Drainage Board composition from civilian membership to executive membership, requiring members be elected officials.
Purpose: To amend the Storm Water System User Fee to allow any individual, firm, corporation or organization that is aggrieved by a determination made pursuant to this ordinance to appeal the determination.
Purpose: To amend the Storm Water Management Program to allow any individual, firm, corporation or organization that is aggrieved by a determination made pursuant to this ordinance to appeal the determination.
Purpose: To amend the Storm Water System User Fee and Fee Structure for Agricultural Land, parcels with a Property Class Code of 100 through 199.
