Department Hires MS4 Program Coordinator
The Department is pleased to announce that Amanda Vandenoever has joined the Department in March as its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program Coordinator. Amanda is a recent graduate of Purdue University Northwest and holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering. In her new position as the Department’s MS4 Program Coordinator, Amanda will assist the Department in coordinating the Department’s various programs and services in a manner consistent with the US EPA’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) municipal storm water program. Her responsibilities will include assisting the Department with public education and outreach, public involvement, illicit discharge detection and elimination review of proposed review of proposed private development projects (e.g., subdivisions, site plans) for compliance with the county’s storm water-related codes, construction and post-construction inspections of private development projects, the implementation of pollution prevention/good housekeeping practices in municipal activities and operations, and recordkeeping and reporting. Amanda has an interest in storm water quantity and quality management to protect the environment and our valuable water resources and will make a great addition to our talented staff dedicated to protecting and improving the storm water infrastructure serving Porter County.
